What to measure after launching your website

The first analytics metrics that matter after launch: traffic quality, conversion actions, search visibility and page experience.

Website analytics dashboard after launch

Start with conversion events

Traffic is useful, but actions matter more. Track form submissions, checkout starts, purchases, booking requests, calls and demo signups. These events show whether visitors are doing what the business needs.

Name events clearly so future reports are easy to understand.

Review traffic quality

Look at which channels bring engaged visitors, not only the most visitors. A smaller source with strong conversions may deserve more attention than a large source with quick exits.

For a new site, compare organic search, direct traffic, social links, referrals and paid campaigns separately.

Connect Search Console

Google Search Console shows impressions, clicks, indexing status and search queries. It helps you understand how Google sees the website before rankings fully mature.

Use query data to improve page titles, FAQs and internal links.

Watch page experience

Slow pages, mobile layout issues and confusing forms can block growth even when marketing works. Track Core Web Vitals, error states and mobile usability during the first month after launch.
